Look, I think that Nicole Richie is a beautiful woman of color. And that’s that. To all you people who have issues with her being part black, part white or part latina… that just tells that you have some insecurities within yourself. Every one wants to claim someone famous into their racial “group”. I agree that we have so many other things in this world to worry about other than someone’s ethnic background. Not sure what the big deal is – (and besides, if she were Puerto Rican – she would be considered biracial/Afro American by today’s standards as Puerto Ricans – like the majority of Latin America/Central America/Caribbean (e.g. – Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatamala, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and even parts of Chile and Peru) – are for lack of a better word – mulatto in every sense of the word. Where do you think we get the Conga, Lambada, Samba,Salsa, etc . . .from (which have been credibly researched and linked to West African regions of Ghana, Senegal, Mali, and Nigeria) combined with Latin melody and lyric . . . i remember hearing that it was someone that Lionel worked with, a musician that he adopted her from. Then one day I saw the Wayne Brady show and someone that used to work with Lionel was in the band. I saw Pete and knew that had to be Nicole’s biological father. She looks so much like him.

Pete Escovedo is Mexican but his music is Salsa influenced, hence people mistaking him for Puerto Rican. His wife Juanita is Black but mixed so she looks Latina and BTW Juanita looks just like Nicole same body type and height. Many mixed people, especially ones that have black blood on both sides, consider themselves black. Having Latin blood but not speaking any Spanish and not being raised in a culturally Latino household makes identifying oneself as Latina difiicult; and identifying as White given Nicole’s looks and adoptive parents is almost next to impossible.

One looks indian, hispanic and the other look caucasian and hispanic. The indian looking one have tanish dark skin, almond shape eyes and straight black hair. The caucasian looking one have BLOND hair, light brown eyes and fair skin. It’s amazing and I look black and indian or dominican. People can’t believe they are twins or my children. This just goes to show you that having a mixture of color can make one more attractive IF they are lucky enough to have the best of both mixtures.

I think Nicole Richie is beautiful no matter what color she may be. I have a 3 yr. old daughter whom is mixed, 50%white & 50% African-American.
