Watch Neon Indian’s TED Talk
Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo recently gave a talk called “Auteurs In The Ether” at a TEDx conference in Martha’s Vineyard. He discussed how Stanley Kubrick and John Cassavetes made him want to become a filmmaker, but because of his college’s limitations on loaning out movie-making equipment, he turned to music instead. He goes on to talk about how the internet is filled with auteurs and says that the web has made music an “arm’s race for originality.” The whole talk aims to answer the question: “If your inspiration comes from an inner monologue or an open dialogue, does either one make it any less original an expression?” Watch below.
