Stream Girlpool & Slutever’s Split EP
Recent Band To Watch Girlpool are making their way to the East Coast for a tour with raucous L.A.-via-Philly punks Slutever. (If you’re not familiar with Slutever, they’re pretty fucking great — they’ve been releasing some scattered songs and demos over the past few years. Some highlights include “I Can Dream The Rest Away” and “1994.”) To celebrate the start of their tour, the two bands have released a new split tape and it’s one of those deals where they cover each other’s tracks and then provide a new song of their own. Slutever gives a discordant take of “Blah Blah Blah” and Girlpool softens up “White Flag.” The originals are good, too: Girlpool’s “This Place” features a circling guitar line that borders on psychedelic, and “Stomach Ache” sees Slutever embracing their recent move to the sunny Los Angeles atmosphere. You can stream the whole split below.
