Passion Pit – “Where The Sky Hangs”
Passion Pit have been teasing their new album Kindred for a while now, but they made the official announcement yesterday, sharing the first single and album opener “Lifted Up (1985).” That song was the sort of thing you expect to hear from Passion Pit: A big, energetic, synthetic joy-explosion. This morning, they’ve shared another new one called “Where The Sky Hangs,” and this song brings things down a few notches while still sounding very much like Passion Pit. It’s a big and bright song, but it’s slower and more stately, with a midtempo ’80s-pop lilt that reminds me of Huey Lewis & The News, of all things. Listen to it below.
Kindred is out 4/21 on Columbia.
