It’s difficult not to get cynical about the influx of nostalgia/money-driven reunion tours and reunion records, but if anyone’s doing it gracefully and still feels vital and relevant in the process, it’s My Bloody Valentine. When I was knee-high to a grasshopper, I was lucky enough to catch MBV on their 1992 Loveless tour with (the also successfully reunited) Dinosaur Jr. — judging from this multi-camera clip of them doing a lovely, smearing “To Here Knows When” before a frenetic backdrop at last month’s Fuji Rock Festival, they haven’t missed a step. Or aged.
In addition to the reunion, Isn’t Anything and the aforementioned Loveless were re-released digitally yesterday. As Billboard reports, the Tremelo EP and “four vintage short-form videos” for “Only Shallow,” “Soon,” “Swallow” and the just-watched “To Here Knows When” are also available. See you in September.

Now THAT is music mixed with emotion and also something very, very special. Amazing. Makes one lose track of time and space…and that’s a good thing.
what is that music? it sounds way too good to possibly be a live recording, but the vocal tracks sound different than what is on loveless.

saw them a bunch of times during their london run and they were absolutely incredible. ATP New York can’t come quick enough; i need more.
