Blur, by Julian Opie, 2000

Poor Blur: the Guardian’s art critic has picked their portrait as one of the 10 worst paintings in Britain. Yup, the same one they put on the cover of their Best-of.

I have to say I agree with the write up. They’re good for an album cover, but to hang in a gallery? They’re nothing special.

  2. some of my favorite cover art.

  3. Blur always had great cover art…Parklife’s still my favorite cover.

I’d like to see the 13 cover on display

  5. As opposed to that masterpiece album cover ‘Be Here Now’ by Oasis, just filled with crazy secret images. Cuz y’know, The Beatles did it.

  6. Did you ever see the Sharp Aquos commercials for their HDTV, they seemed to grab some imagery from the Be Here Now cover art.
