Billy Corgan Quits Twitter To Focus On TNA Wrestling, Vintage Car Photos
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has a lot of thoughts about a lot of things, but those thoughts will no longer be posted (in 140 characters or less) on Twitter. As he wrote in his last tweet:
Instead, he will be spending his time posting pictures of people and their cars on his new blog, People And Their Cars. According to the site’s About page, it will feature “Pictures (mostly Vernacular), design elements (found), and ephemera with smatterings of Art (conscious),” and if that sounds good to you, you can subscribe to Corgan’s Red Border Club mailing list, which will offer you access to more images and updates about people and their cars.
The rest of Corgan’s newly Twitter-less time will be devoted to his other passion, pro wrestling. Corgan is a longtime fan, and earlier this year, he became a became a writer for TNA Wrestling, America’s second largest wrestling company after WWE. Today, as Pitchfork reports, he led a press conference with TNA president Dixie Carter about the TNA World Heavyweight Championship — I know nothing about pro wrestling, so I don’t entirely understand what’s going on, but basically, TNA’s new World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy is relinquishing the title due to an injunction from the previous champion, and they’re holding another tournament to determine the new champion. Watch the announcement below.
