Bruce Springsteen Offers Free Show Download As Consolation For NYC Cancelation
Winter Storm Jonas did not care about your plans. If you live on the East Coast, chances are you did not get to do the things you were expecting to do this past weekend. (Shout out to my aborted Royal Rumble party.) If you had tickets to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Madison Square Garden this weekend, you were probably pretty severely bummed about that show’s cancelation, especially considering how great their shows have been lately. But as a consolation prize for those New York fans — and as a nice little bonus for the rest of us — Springsteen is offering a free MP3 download of his by-all-accounts-incredible 1/19 show at Chicago’s United Center.
The Chicago show, like the canceled New York show, was part of Springsteen’s River tour, in which he plays his 1980 album in full every night. And, as we already posted, it also featured Springsteen covering the Eagles’ “Take It Easy” in tribute to the just-passed Glenn Frey. The show will only be up for free download until 8PM tomorrow, so you probably want to grab it now. To download, head over here.
