Sonny & The Sunsets – “Well But Strangely Hung Man” Video (Feat. Merrill Garbus & Shannon Shaw)
Sonny & The Sunsets have shared a video for “Well But Strangely Hung Man,” a track off the San Francisco band’s upcoming album Moods Baby Moods. tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus, who produced the record, makes an appearance in the video alongside Shannon And The Clams’ Shannon Shaw and Kelley Stoltz. Sonny goes for a trippy reflection down some Bay Area streets. “One of my favorite kinds of art is a style of almost trashy comic book tales but with some depth and meaning at the core of it. I think of Robert Crumb or Hairy Who and the Chicago Imagists, or the Fugs,” he explained to Noisey. The list can go on of course. This song and video on the surface is slapstick and farcical but peel back a few layers and you’ve got a comment about the rejected, the freakish or marginalized and heroism.” Listen below.
