The Clientele – “Since We Last Spoke”
Breathy British balladeers the Clientele reissued their excellent 2005 release Strange Geometry last year on Merge, and a vinyl repress is coming next month. In conjunction with the repress, they’re sharing an EP called A Sense of Falling: Strange Geometry Outtakes including several previously unreleased tracks. “Since We Last Spoke” is one of those, and it’s a good one. This group’s gentle, melancholy guitar-pop is in peak form here. (And as far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with RJD2’s 2004 album of the same name, but stranger things have happened.) Listen and enjoy.
The Strange Geometry repress and A Sense of Falling: Strange Geometry Outtakes are out 5/6 on Merge. Pre-order the LP here and get the EP as a digital download.
