Awww, come on, “Celebrate” by Kool and the Gang is kind of a standard at weddings. Enjoyed (or at least tolerated) by happy people of all ages who have cause to celebrate about something.
I hate that “Celebrate” song. It’s part of a traumatic event I was part of in 5th grade. I’d say more but I just might start crying on my laptop. Wah.
Granted, Justin: Celebrate is not actually a terrible song. But surely fIREHOSE has a song enjoyed by happy people of all ages?
I have nightmares about about being forced to dance to those horrible recommendations at my own wedding.

At my friend’s wedding last year the bride and groom came out to the Top Gun Theme and then the Monkees Theme Song. And the first slow dance for the bride and groom was In The Aeroplane Over the Sea.
at my friend’s wedding, they danced their first dance to ‘do you realize’ by the flaming lips. i thought that kind of kicked ass.

I’ve been to two weddings recently and the bride and groom had Nothing Else Matters by Metalica and You and Me Song by The Wannadies. The You and Me Song dancing was especially embarrassing. My wife wanted Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying by B&S but I had to veto it on account of my mother’s heart.

There’s listening music and then there’s dancing music. Judging by most of the replies here I’m going to guess that most of you are white and can’t dance for shit.
Exactly Chu, which is why god made the cocktail hour. Music folks like but arent danceable. I put some Roxy Music, David Byrne, OMD, Lightening Seeds, etc. And, it depends on what kind of dancing you like. For the life of me I dont understand why people call what they do to ‘Twist and Shout’ dancing. But wow, DJs seem to think people love doing whatever that is.
