This week, turntable auteur DJ Shadow returns with his new album The Mountain Will Fall. And for its first single, he recruited rap insurgents Run The Jewels — his ’90s-underground contemporaries, though all three guys involved come from very different parts of the rap map — to guest on the funkily combustible “Nobody Speak.” Last night, Shadow and RTJ appeared together on The Tonight Show, performing “Nobody Speak” and dedicating it to “victims of violence from Chicago to Orlando.” Shadow got in a very impressive scratch solo, and a pair of horn players flanked him. But as with anything RTJ-related, the real reason to watch might be just seeing El-P and Killer Mike trading off lines, their chemistry somehow still growing stronger. Watch the performance below.
