Beat Connection – “For The Record”
Seattle’s Beat Connection released last year the sparkling, magnetic Product 3. That album is “so good” — dance music for those who don’t want to break a sweat while doing so. Building off the same effervescent groove, the electro-pop quartet return with a new one-off in celebration of their upcoming tour taking place later this month.
“For The Record” is classic Beat Connection, in that it would perfectly soundtrack a blacklight party taking place in slow-motion. The way modern bands sometimes purposefully sample a bit of vinyl hiss to impart anachronistic warmth, “For The Record” has this distinct bass rumble that mimics booming speaker rattle. Beat Connection weld clanking steel and symphonic electro-fizz into syrupy house music, and it goes down incredibly smooth. Listen below.
