Celebration’s singer Katrina Ford sounds like Shirley Bassey; a cover of “Goldfinger” wouldn’t sound out of place on their self-titled debut album. Musically, the group dabbles in the same sort of sinister carnival music as Tom Waits, but the song structures have more in common with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I thought of “if Shirley Bassey sang for Portishead,” but that’s more about mood than sound. Also, you can see Katrina Ford’s nipples through her shirt in the press photo on their myspace profile. It’s not a Britney Spears nip slip, but it’s the best I’ve got for a Friday morning.

The Celebration is awesome. I ordered the new record, and Im excited for it to come. I never knew katrina ford was half greek until today. I live in Greece, whens Celebration gonna be playing a show with Sweet Ohm or Washing Casper, or whens Manos gonna book celebration at Bios?? CMON!! thanks alot, take care.
