DANGERDOOM – “Mad Nice” (Feat. Black Thought & Vinny Price)
Back in 2005, Danger Mouse and MF Doom teamed up as DANGERDOOM for a collaborative full-length entitled The Mouse And The Mask, an Adult Swim-inspired collection of Danger Mouse-samples and Doom bars. As animated as the cartoon characters who appear throughout the album, The Mouse And The Mask is still in the top tier of Doom’s many collaborations, and next month, Metalface Records will reissue a special edition of the LP packaged alongside the duo’s only other release, the Occult Hymn EP. In addition, two previously unreleased songs will be featured on the album’s tracklist. The first of those we’re hearing is “Mad Nice,” a joint cut with Black Thought and Vinny Price that features a celebratory, nostalgic instrumental, as well an expectedly sophisticated Doom verse: “Straight and narrow, as the flight of a sparrow…How you supposed to shoot for the moon with one arrow?” Listen below.
The Mouse And The Mask reissue is out 5/5 via METALFACE Records. Pre-order it here.
