Stream GRLMIC VOL1 Benefit Covers Comp Feat. Snail Mail, Lisa Prank, T-Rextasy, & More
Just yesterday, we premiered Sad13’s cover of Carole King’s “It’s Too Late,” which appears on a new compilation called GRLMIC VOL1 whose proceeds will go towards Planned Parenthood and Willie Mae Rock Camp. Today, the compilation is available to stream (and purchase) in full, and it features a ton of Stereogum faves: Snail Mail covering Sharon Van Etten, T-Rextasy covering the Chordettes, Lisa Prank covering Lucinda Williams, and more great stuff from Chastity Belt’s Julia Shapiro, IAN SWEET’s Jilian Medford, Fern Mayo, Long Beard, and a few others. There will be a benefit release show on Sunday (4/23) at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right featuring some of the bands on the comp. You can listen to it below.
GRLMIC VOL1 is out now — you can buy it here. There will be a benefit release show at Baby’s All Right on 4/23 with T-Rextasy, Emily Yacina, Fern Mayo (solo), and a DJ set from Puro Instinct’s Piper Durabo. Tickets available here.
