Tonight The Monkeys Die collects five remixes of a great tune off Low’s surprisingly amped up Great Destroyer. Available on CD later this year, but on iTunes now, the EP features versions of “Monkey” by Fog, Crew Jones, Stephin Merritt, Bob Mould, and The Count. They’re all pretty awesome … well, you can skip the Crew Jones one (slowcore and rap don’t mix well). Here’s the original:

Low – “Monkey” (MP3)

Low will (gently) rock Decatur, GA at the Paste Rock’n'Reel Festival October 22 and 23.. It’s one of the band’s only concert dates this year. Festival line-up and ticket info here.

Hey guys, I’m hear to say that you better go see the Brothers Chaps talk at the Rock ‘n’ Whatever festival if you know what’s good for you. The Cheat said he wouldn’t go, so I told him once and for all that he can’t have any more lightswitch rave parties. Well, anyway, I have email to answer. And you have your marching orders.

Oh, and listen to Strong Bad, he knows.

A festival in Decatur? Is this going to be an annual thing?

  12. redrocKer  |   Posted on Oct 6th, 2005

ads say “first annual” so it seems so. i’ll take Strong Bad’s marching orders, especially for $15 a day (and no ridiculous ticketmaster charges)

  13. Crew Jones is what music should be so people should start watching their mouths more closely…they are from Minnesota

  14. Yea, crew jones is a rap group from minnesota. and they’re nothing to be skipped.
