Real Life Buildings – “No News” Video

Real Life Buildings – “No News” Video

A couple weeks back, Real Life Buildings released their great new album, Significant Weather, and today they’re sharing a video for “No News,” a reflection on the constant influx of news and information we’re confronted with through technology. It was directed by Jon Appel and band leader Matthew Van Asselt, and it depicts members of the group — which includes Vagabon’s Lætitia Tamko and Crying’s Elaiza Santos — lit up by the glow of their screens, which are rendered in smudgy illustrations reflecting just how little we actually take in when we’re scrolling through the web and how empty it can all feel. But the video finds vibrancy in real life, and when the show ends on the band gathering to play at the old (🙁) Shea Stadium, you can feel just how important those physical connections are. Watch below.
