Spectre Folk – “Blowing Tornadoes” Video
Spectre Folk, the band headed by Pete Nolan that also counts Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley and Pavement bassist Mark Ibold among its members, are releasing their first album since 2012 on Friday. We’ve already heard one song from the upcoming Vol. 4, the pastoral acoustic trip “Bremsstrahlung,” and now they’ve shared another. “Blowing Tornadoes” explores a different corner of the vast psychedelic cosmos, gradually expanding from a surfy dirge to a psych-rock freakout. Similarly, the video from director Raymond Salvatore Harmon blossoms from literal footage of tornados to something more abstract, a colorful collage that most closely resembles an old TV set on an acid trip. Watch and listen below.
Vol. 4 is out 6/2 via Vampire Blues. Pre-order it here.
