Great Grandpa – “No” Video
Since Great Grandpa’s debut album, Plastic Cough, came out a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been really obsessed with its closing track, the paranoia-induced zombie invasion turned personal revelation “28 Js L8r.” That has nothing to do with what’s below, but I just wanted to say … damn, that’s a good song! “No” is a good song too, and today the Seattle band is sharing a video for it that was illustrated by Lisa Jake.
Presumably taking a little inspiration from the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the vid follows around an awkward-looking and empathetic caterpillar that’s getting harassed by some fanged spiders. Sad … but cute! The caterpillar ends up going through their inevitable transformation and, much like the metamorphosis that the band aims to achieve through their music, it comes back as a cool-ass butterfly that fucks shit up by being… incredibly nurturing? It’s a treat to watch, and you can do so below.
