My friend saw the Material Mom’s not-so-secret guest appearance at Roxy the other weekend (Roxy alerted their mailing list a week before saying she was NOT coming, but New Yorkers called bullshit). She showed shortly after 2AM, (here’s a pic), and selected gay men from the audience to take turns dancing with her. The roars were deafening of course … But is Madonna still relevant in the music world?
People have compared the original pop blondie to Gwen Stefani since the latter’s solo jawn dropped last year. (Incidentally, Gwen gets the lesbian vote.) Even Madonna’s chimed in:
[Gwen] ripped me off. We work with a lot of the same people. She married a Brit, she’s got blonde hair and she likes fashion. But I don’t mind. I think she’s very sweet and talented.

Man is she sexy. I boned as soon as I saw her. But now I am about to be sick. As the video went on I saw her legs more and at the end of the day, they are curvy, but fat. I mean if I was to try and get in bed with her I would feel so awkward. Being thin myself, I go for smaller women, but my legs would be sticks compared to those. Dave Froggatt, I love your positive energy. Madonna is a legend, and that’s fact. Gwen may possibly be one someday as well. They are both successful entertainers who are well adored. All people have different ideas about what they feel is the greatest. The wonderful thing is to be passionate about it, but the hatred will consume you. I grew up on Madonna music and I also enjoy Gwen’s music now. As far as age is concerned, Madonna looks amazing and she works at it. There’s nothing wrong with her style, her dancing, or her music. Culture does that to people. Don’t hate because it different than what you’re used to being exposed to. Open your mind, allow yourself to experience new things. You don’t have to like it, but there’s no reason to hate. Evolution is not by lack of exposure.
Madonna’s new album is a winner. She’s exquisite and for any age, she looks incredible. Peace to you all no matter what artist you enjoy listening to.
As you can see, I am a huge fan of Gwen Stefani. She’s really cool in all of her music videos and I think that she is a really talented singer. I really like how she is so hyper and especially liked how she kicked a cereal box in “Hollaback Girl” (she did an awesome roundhouse kick). As for Madonna, I don’t really know much about her except for the fact that she’s an inspiration to Gwen. I’m not going to judge either of them.
I like hung up better than luxoriouse because the tune of Hung up and the music just wants to make you dance like Lose control by: Missy Eliot but I’m not saying Madonna and Missy have anything in common I’m just saying that both of there song want to make you dance and Luxorious doesnt want you to make you do anything but this is the only Madonna song I like.
