But that doesn’t seem likely given that co-star Lindsay Lohan is sure to mar the flick’s dignity. The reader who sent the pic to us suggested Leto-as-Chapman resembled Ben Gibbard, but we won’t go there…

We wouldn’t want to mar the reputation of a major motion picture that was made about a guy who killed one of the most greatest and most beloved musicians of all time in order to get famous by having Lindsay Lohan star in it.

The hair seems actually pretty acurate-
the fact that they are making a movie about this loser is stupid. Mark Chapman was just a loser who wanted fame. in fact, he wanted to be in prison because he was such a loser at providing for himself, and he would feel safe there. he’s really not even that crazy which anyone would realize if they read LET ME TAKE YOU DOWN, and listened to the 20/20 interview barb walters did with him.
the real answer to the question of what should be done with mark chapman, is to free him. he’ll be dead inside a week.

I am a huge John Lennon fan so i don’t fully agree with the concept of the movie I dont think Mark Chapman diserves the publicity he is going to get after this movie. But on the other hand It is an interesting topic for hollywood to make a movie on. This my sound wierd me being a Huge Lennon fan and all but “The Catcher In The Rye” is my very favorite book i’ve read it 3 times and i’m only 14. The only reason i read it was to see what drove Chapman insain but i saw nothing that sugested killing celebraties though Holden the main charactor has fantacies of killing people who he conciders phonies.

All I want to know is…why the hell is Lohan in this movie?! I have no clue what part she could possibly play. A red-headed Yoko? No, that wouldn’t work. Bjork would be a better fit. Cynthia showing up as MDC killed him? Nope, she was blonde. A. A movie about John, has no place for skanky actresses. And B. I’m just hoping that maybe enough people will realize what a nutjob and supreme asshole MDC is, and either he won’t get parole, or if he does…someone will promptly shoot *him* in the chest four times like he did to John.

No way. It’s not a movie about John, per se, but about the killing of him? Some in-depth MDC psyche about his reasoning for killing him, without emphasis on him actually killing him. I’m confused, and pissed. He’s a murderer, and he should rot in prison, and then in hell. Charlie Manson’s still locked up, and he didn’t even actually kill anyone. He just ‘brainwashed’ others into doing it. But, on a lighter note, he’s not a bad musician.

So, perpetuating his legacy through cinema? He (MDC) is not and never was “insane.” He was a huge Beatles fan and became “religious” and changed his way of thinking. That does not constitute insanity. He went with one extreme and made his decision. The fact that people even say his name is ridiculous. No one will forget that John Lennon was assisnated, but being 32 years old and not knowing the name of his killer until recently was the only way I could honor the memory John Lennon (I refused to partake of that knowledge.) But now his name is as common as Dahmer and he deserves less than nothing. When people are forgotten they cease to exist.

I think it was a very bold and risky move for Jared to take this roll. He is an amazing artist. The fact that he nearly died putting on the weight for this film, because he refused to wear a fat suit shows his dedication. I commend him for taking this role. Now whether this hurts or helps his career is unseen.
PS: Jared is hot.

It is sad that anyone would be murdered, but John Lennon was not a God…. he was an meglagomaniac who bullied his first wife, bullied his band mates and pschologically damaged his son for life!! If Mark Chapman did not have murdered him, he would not be the idol he is today…. he probably would have become a fat, bitter twisted old man, writting awful songs ….. like Mull of Kintyre!!!
