Sorry kids, Gibbard’s real busy these days … we can’t help ourselves. Hopefully Sufjan will do something interesting soon so we can go back to fawning over him.
Watch Directions‘ “Marching Bands Of Manhattan,” directed by Paul Brown, here (MOV).

Sweet! I just ran out of Tylenol PMs- this should do the trick just fine
Starring Moby!
definite TRL material, i say.
if i wanted to watch things in slow motion, i’d watch my grandma paint.
Boring and unwatchably bad.
trl material? no… just an amalgamated retread of things we have seen before. It’s neither awful nor awesome.
i’d rather slide down a razorblade bannister into a vat of rubbing alcohol than watch these pseudo-intellectual indie-yuppie yawnmowers do anything. what’s next, an official dcfc choose-your-own-adventure game?
no no, not trl fo’ realz, yo. utter sarcasm.
Golly. Sure are a lot of Negative Nancys around today. I think you all just have a case of the Mondays.
is that the David Cross impersonator?
Did they ever catch that guy. My friend’s mom told us on Saturday night that she had just had sex with the bald short guy from Arrested Development. We weren’t sure if it was really David Cross.
you all just want to hate it.
The “Directions” trailer on the Death Cab website had some interesting looking clips from the future videos. I am especially looking forward to seeing the stop-motion animation for “Different Names for the Same Thing.”
unwatchable
Wah wah wah. I hate everything. All art everywhere is shitty and boring. Nothing excites me.
Is that Felix Da Housecat?
@EJ: Dear God, let’s hope so. I’ll even buy you a copy.
dcfc and sufjan are so 2005. who are we supposed to loathe/hate in 2006?
sounds great. i’ll choose the adventure where dcfc write something worth listening to, an adventure that makes the computer pause for 8 years before giving the player a blue screen of death.
No, seriously, I liked Plans. But that. That video is so many levels of suck.
That was okay… But really, what Death Cab video could live up to the Movie Script Ending video?
seriously, shockingly bad.
i take issue with the way these videos were created and paid for. $5000 a pop – which is embarrassing, how the hell you’re supposed to make something great on that kind of budget is a mystery – and you sign away all rights to the work, which can then be resold by atlantic on dvd and itunes.
with all of that said, this video sucks balls. what a terrible way to launch ‘directions’.
