Laura Viers, The Village Green, Rock Votolato… 3 of the best acts in the NW right now…

  2. early bet on “surprise” act: Smashing Pumpkins.

  3. Is this some sort of festival? This blows Coachella out of the water!!!

  4. it’s a yeti.

  5. Liz – It’s a festival about three hours east of Seattle at a venue the overlooks the Columbia River. I think this is the third or fourth year it’s ran?

My guess for the secret act is These Arms Are Snakes. Or The Foo Fighters, who knows.

  6. i bet it’s the pumpkins, too

  7. I went to see Wolfmother last night at Mercury Lounge–you may not dig their Sabbath-esque style, but they’re amazing performers and worth checking out if you head to this festival.

I didn’t think I’d be a fan, but they’re really growing on me (thanks in part to that MSTRKRFT remix). I posted some pics and a review of last night and an interview with lead man Andrew Stockley…

Thanks for the info. It’s the significant news I’ve been waiting for as I’ve been sitting on the fence about whether or not I was headed for The Gorge this year for the event.

  9. well thats it, looks like im skipping coachella and going to sasquatch. you gotta love the gorge in george. click my name for a picture of the gorge amphitheater.

  10. ho. lee. crap! who needs coachella?

  11. Couple this lineup with the fact that they even have a “Wookie” stage, and this festival is going to blow the others out of the water.

All eyes on Sasquatch this year…

  12. amazing lineup. went last year and seeing Pixies, Wilco and Arcade Fire in one day rivalled 2004 Coachella Day 1. It might even have been hotter at the Gorge than Coachella if that’s possible.

Only problem is that adding the Hip means I’m looking at another two hours added to the border lineup getting across.

Oh, how much are tix? or will it be like woodstock ’69, and it’s free! Bumrush the show! Let’s start a revolution…

  16. Individual days are $55+fees. Not price listed for the 3-day pass.

  17. ^^my exact thoughts. but i’m underage, and far away, so yeah, it’s not gonna happen. Somebody has to take pictures!

the new PGMG album is an absolute atrocity. if some albums are referred to as a step back, this one comes off as if they hopped in the DeLorean and rode with Doc during Back to the Future III.

Holy crap, day 2 makes me cream my jeans

  20. I can’t even pick a stage. Last year it was pretty easy to anchor at the Mainstage, but this year…ack!

  21. sweet! this year, there’s actually a reason to live in eastern WA. for 3 days. even though I have to be here the other 362, too. oh well.

    vangaalen…nice.

  22. Ah now this just had to go and get me all excited about the best music festival in WA… Bumbershoot.

Some good bands there but eastern washington is hell.
