Nina Persson of the Cardigans (who Stereogum readers still adore apparently) stars in Om Gud Vill, a new Swedish movie shot in black and white by first time director Amir Chamdin. I don’t think any of us will see it — BUT if you watch the trailer, you’ll hear Nina singing “Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground.” Joe wrote in begging for an MP3. Anyone got it?

I second the call for an mp3!
that’s cool and all, but that song wasn’t around in 1975…Jack and Meg were being conceived…I don’t understand why some soundtracks are just there to pretty up a film and completely neglect the historical accuracy of it. i suppose I should just relax about it and enjoy the song…yay
i am in sweden at present, so there’s at least a chance i can find this. i’ll try.
I’m dying for this mp3.
Yeah … I guess I third the begging.
Great tune.
I will join in on this. I love the cardigans. She was a close second on my list of miss indie 2005 behind jenny lewis, of course. Have you seen the cover of their latest album, “superextragravity”. Way hot.
I was in Sweden recently and managed to purloin a heavy card poster for Om Gud Vill from a tube train (they were full of them).
IMDB has some more information on the movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0495116) though nothing as yet on a soundtrack listing.
I like Nina better than the other indie girrllz. “I Need Some Fine Wine” was my favorite song from last year.
i love swedes!
Coincidentally, “Om Gud Vill” translates to “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp.”
ummm, since when did soundtracks have to match the historical period of the film in question?
Ummm… Holy crap why isn’t that on their new LP?
swedes are fun

yay! cardigans! i’m so happy people like them!
no mp3 make mongo angry

they don’t?there isn’t a rule. i’m just not feeling this song with the trailer…i’m the only defector here
the title translates in to if God want to… “fantasy becomes reality”
The Cardigans are a very underated band in America. It sucks to, because they deserve better than to be held to one hit wonder status by “lovefool.” The fact is that there albums have gotten progressively better.
Martin Scorcsese-0 Three Six Mafia-1, for those keeping score.
Their last two albums are both on constant repeat on my iPod. Nina Persson is awesome, and I don’t get why they don’t get any play here in the States. A slight “review” in this week’s Village Voice is the first mention I’ve even seen of Super Extra Gravity in a “mainstream” (albeit “alternative”) publication. Where’s the love?
romeo + juliet = soundtrack w/music not in time period, including cardigan’s love fool!
The Cardigans latest “Super Extra Gravity” is the best album not released in the U.S. last year. They are currently looking for a label here in America. Hopefully someone will pick them up soon. That album is their best.
Love that White Stripes cover too. The film looks interesting. Good STUFF!
I would otherwise have no problem with Nina Persson, but I find it hard to forgive her after her duet cover of “Burning Down the House” with Tom Jones. So. Fucking. Dreadful.
RE: BOOBOO
Not since ZZ top was in Back to the Future 3 have i seen such a paradox in a film’s soundtrack. douche.
According to Magnus from the Cardigans, they’re supposed to be touring in Canada in May.
It is well known that the members of ZZ Top are time-travelers from the future, so their music would be appropriate for films set in any time period.
I found this live video torrent of Juli and the Monoliths (the band Nina sings for in “Om Gud Vill”)…but no is seeding it, so it’s kind of worthless.

I tried.

Are you kidding me? That song is amazing. Tom Jones rips into that song like no other can.
Hey, wasn’t Super Extra Gravity supposed to have extra tracks like Night and Day(Give me Your Eyes)? I just got it in the mail today and it only had eleven tracks in it. Does anyone know what happened?
I have super extra gravity and it has thirteen tracks, but it is an import, so the us version that they are planning on releasing may not have all of them. Doesn’t that piss you off, how one country gets more tracks the other. Why can’t they just make every album the same. I am sure it is a conspiracy by record labels to sell more than one album to uber fans. Just another reason why major record labels suck. This pisses me off as much as reissues 6 months after the cd is out with extra tracks. I remember when I was a young lad, I had to buy Bone Thugs In Harmony “E 1999 Eternal” because my original purchase had a crappy version of the crossroads before they redid it and reissued the cd with the well known popular version. I have no idea why on went on this spat. I guess I have been bottling that up for about 11 years.
‘scool
‘scool. I went on the Amazon UK website and bought the UK release of the album, which comes with the bonus tracks. I went on the Cardigans website and went to the “Ask the Band” section to find the run-down of which country gets what. Apparently countries like Thailand (where my import is from) and the like don’t get the bonus ones, but the UK and I think Germany/Canada may get the bonus tracks too. Well, anyways it looks like I’m gonna have to sell this version I got, caue I opened it and cant get a refund. Damn.
i LOVE the cardigans! they are so underrated, and every one of their albums, from “emmerdale” on are amazing…i hope they start getting the attention they deserve.
hi.anybody know is where i can free download film OM GUD VILL(my english is shit)?
