From first spin of Viva La Vida…, “Lost” has been my personal favorite, mixing just the right portions of Peter Gabriel and U2 to move the arenas they so badly want to move. Although when I saw the band at MSG, my brother turned to me and said “Hey, that’s a pretty sweet organ line … that nobody in the band is playing.” It was a pretty sweet ZING, and I’m having flashbacks to it watching the track’s official “live” video which wasn’t recorded at the Garden but may as well have been since they never change their clothes (zang). After the relatively high concept clips for “Viva La Vida” and “Violet Hill,” a concert clip is welcome, especially since this is better than your average concert clip because of the cracked-out camera zooms and super high-def closeups.
Good song. But if you’re wondering, no, Chris’s voice does not sound that good live (it sounds more like this). Consider it an alternate studio vocal take with crowd sounds mixed in for bonus keepin’ it real. “Lost” is getting a proper single release on 11/10 via a digital Lost EP. And a reminder: There’s lots more Coldplay music on the way.

I like this song but I don’t like how he is dancing like he’s singing Mr. Wendel. It reeks of middle aged dude trying to be hip like the kids.
A surprisingly enjoyable video. Not quite as good as Corbijn’s Viva La Vida one, but the meshing of the studio and live performances works very well and it’s nice to see that Martin didn’t try and act any less goofy with his dancing and audience interaction for the cameras.
Absolute effing shite.
I’m absolutely amazed this album has done so well. It’s appalling.
Oh, I know, man.
Why didn’t they include full tracks from My Bloody Valentine or TV on the Radio on their album?
What were they thinking? …
I agree 100%. Horrible album.
And Flargimmer, MBV is light years better than Coldplay. TV on the Radio…meh. Flash in the pan band.
WOOOOOOSH!!
i loved the album, like this song, but the video…meh. The flailing around was kind of distracting and a little silly.
al right video. chris martins dancing was a little less embarrassing than usual
But the crowd likes it– they’re who paid for it.
I love this band but I understand some of the hate. There’s nothing the least bit dangerous or threatening about them. So for those of you whose every moment moment is proving how cool you are, a simple band like this doesn’t promote that image for you.
Wow, a band that puts more than three chords into their songs. I like the track although it does sound a bit dated (80s music – Echo & the Bunnymen). Who cares though? I like that stuff! Agree wity Narr – if you’re too cool for school then I suggest you move onto a band with less talent and more edge. Streets
blech. just seems like a mediocre effort.
CRINGE.
The song and the performance are interesting but I just can’t take this bloke seriously. There’s something utterly vapid and insincere in his delivery.
