As the American economy continues to implode and whimper, it’s somehow comforting (not really) to know Ratatat are keeping their LP3 video budget as low as the Stock Market. The NYC duo’s recycled and added warped Paul Simon and Chevy Chase’s “Call Me Al” for “Flynn” and recycled war movie imagery in “Mirando.” This time around ABBA get the nip and tuck treatment, the danceable “Shempi” providing the soundtrack.

All the slicing and reconfiguring of body parts is a bit eerie, especially considering how drummer Ola Brunkert died earlier this year.

LP3 is out via XL.
