The Swedes behind jj, or their equally shadowy handlers, said they recorded the tropical beach-side harmonica jam “Let Go” (and Lil’ Wayne/Charles Manson-sampling non-jj nº 3 track “My Way“) while in Malaga trying to “have some gun, get some sun and 2 albums done.” The results? “Sweet winds of melodies pure and true.” Initially the black and white video set in a bland, sterile-looking room feels more stoic than all of that, but it’s what goes into the space that gives it emotional resonance. (And never has smoking seemed so “pure and true.”)
