The trailer for Twin Sister’s upcoming EP promised sounds that stayed close to the gentle folk of previously-posted track “Nectarine.” But that trailer only had one song on it. The first real taste from Color Your Life has the confidence of “Ginger,” though its harmonies are light as air, almost more breathing than singing. The prominent bassline — as well as the thumps and guitar feedback — keeps the whole thing from floating away. Pretty stuff. The Brooklyn quintet have a bunch of shows coming up for SXSW this week (including one possibly happening right now), and they’ll be opening some dates for Xiu Xiu and tUnE-YaRdS in April.
The Color Your Life EP is due this spring via Infinite Best.

Love Twin Sister. Can’t wait to see them in Denton.
Lame hipster bullshit. SG, stop pimping mediocre bands like this.
Very interesting band. Still finding their way, but headed somewhere good. http://suchaclatter.blogspot.com/2010/03/go-go.html
This song shows some real growth over their wispy, Beach House-esque earlier stuff. This track has that genuinely quirky, daffy, adult contemp from left field quality reminiscent of that first Tom Tom Club album so many years ago. If they could keep going in this direction, they will really set themselves apart from the legions of kids making pale MBV drone stuff.
