Hot Chip made some of my favorite videos of the last decade, because they’ve got great taste in directors and they do both conceptual and humorous really well. And when your singer’s voice is as fragile and tender as Alexis Taylor’s, the humor stops everything from getting too precious. “I Feel Better,” directed by UK comedian Peter Serafinowicz, may be their best video yet, and it’s got an ending worth sticking around for. It’s also the perfect response to anyone who says Hot Chip sound “too pop” on One Life Stand.

One Life Stand is out now via Astralwerks.

    • That’s comedian Ross Lee with the shaved head — he had a weird horror-comedy show in the UK a couple years ago called The Ghoulies (IIRC). The director, Peter Serafinowicz is very funny, too — and he was the voice of Darth Maul in Phantom Menace.
