Last weekend at the Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, CA, Wilco played a couple new songs (one Saturday set, one Sunday) that may or may not show up on their forthcoming seventh album, which is due sometime in the first half of 2009. If you recall, Tweedy also offered new material last month in Spain and before that Lollapalooza birthed “One Wing.” These newbies don’t have titles, or at least not titles we know. You can listen to them over at Muzzle Of Bees (via Vulture). While in Mountain View the guys also played “Jesus, Etc,” which Norah Jones ended up covering later the same night. This is how she looked (and sounded) when she did it:

As far as tying up the Bridge School Benefit, Wilco closed shop one night by doing “I Shall Be Released” with Neil and Peggy Young. If we can find video, we’ll up it. In the meantime, you can catch Jeff & Co. on Colbert this evening.

Off topic but… is this old? I got it from a friend and the dates are the same as 2009′s real dates…

  2. Hmm. I think Tweedy is having some real trouble crafting meaningful lyrics.

Wilco = well past their prime

I think Norah Jones is getting hotter.

Norah Jones was literally the best performance of the day. She was stunning, and I really couldn’t believe it.

    Wow, nice cover!

  6. I guess I’m alone in thinking it was horrible. I don’t listen to Norah Jones, but is that how she always sings? What a fake voice.
