Lolla’s not playing games anymore: The full and official lineup’s in, and it’s fully and officially great. First off, let’s talk about Soundgarden. Soundgarden! If this news came in just two days ago they’d have been copping a “Jesus Christ Pose” for real, but in any event this is a good thing, at the very least because it means Chris Cornell can go about the important business of making up the last ten years of his life to me. The seminal grunge outfit are headlining alongside a stacked list: Arcade Fire, the previously confirmed Strokes (coming together for their first show in four years, and for all the right reasons), Green Day, Phoenix, and also Lady Gaga, so start cuing up the terrible Gagapalooza puns (there you go).
That’s strong, and the undercard rolls just as deeply: From “Spoonman” we go to Spoon, man, and the National, MGMT, Hot Chip, Cut Copy, the New Pornographers, the Black Keys, Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu, Grizzly Bear, the morning benders, Yeasayer, Dirty Projectors, the xx, the Big Pink, Warpaint, HEALTH, Frightened Rabbit, Chromeo, Metric, and Social Distortion. So, yep, there’s a good chance that that weekend will be ruling.
It’s August 6-8 in Grant Park, Chicago. Tix are available at lollapalooza.com for $215. Here’s the full lineup:

FREELANCE WHALES!!!!
I guess I should sell my Sasquatch ticket…
Pretty impressive. Although, by the time this rolls around, I will have seen most of the bands that strike me. Would love to catch Arcade Fire, Devo, Cut Copy, Antlers, and Hot Chip and (yes) the mindfuck that is Lady Gaga.
Best Lolla lineup in years.
Seriously? Happy with this line up?
Look at the amazing line-ups of years past.
I’m selling my ticket.

I totally expected to see Bang Bang Eche on this line up. Eh…pretty shit.
Lolla > Coachella
This lineup kind of sucks, but it definately has it’s hot spots. Can’t believe the Strokes will be at a festival in N.A. LAdy Gaga is kind of a wierd addition too.

I’m disappointed as well. There are some good bands in there, but the top 3 headliners all suck major ass. Green Day, Lady Gaga, and Soundgarden? Looks more like the scheduled performer lineup at the VMA’s.
i’ve already seen green day and soundgarden at lollapalooza. SIXTEEN YEARS AGO in 1994. with few exceptions, a shit lineup.
Wow looking forward to that, this could be the no woodstock except in a more pop musical fashion. Great line up!

What’s the point of life said the guy up there? There is no point he said!
No one can argue that the headliners are weak, but Strokes, Phoenix, and Arcade Fire are more than enough to satisfy me. And in the end, how strong does a line up have to be? You can only see so many shows, and at least to me there’s more than enough to keep me busy.
The Strokes and Arcade fire. ‘Nuff said.
I am not impressed with this line-up. It’s pretty weak imo. It lacks diversity in the Hip Hop area and the Headliners aren’t great.
Great line up this year…can’t wait

Pretty Stoked to see Rogue Wave, Matt & Kim, XX, Slightly Stoopid & Cypress Hill btw these two are touring together this summer
the xx, arcade fire, the strokes, mgmt, green day, pheonix, the black keys, the national, grizzly bear, c’mon people those bands are great. Sure the lineup has its weaknesses, but what festival doesnt.
