Hole kicked off their US tour on Thursday in support of Nobody’s Daughter. Photographer Andrew Youssef documented her return to the stage (it’s been years since Hole played L.A.), and found the 45-minute set struck the right combination of Hole hits and new material. “Malibu,” “Violet,” and “Miss World” made the set list, while Love and (new) Co. did “Doll Parts” and “Northern Star” as part of the two encores. Youssef also found that new Hole material like “Samantha” and “Skinny Little Bitch” blended into the set well. Love shook hands with her hardcore at-the-venue-since-noon fans in the front row and told the crowd she hated and loved L.A. at the same time. Sounds like she was closer to the latter on Thursday.
