Grizzly Bear Play The Lottery

After soundtracking the Volkswagen Superbowl “Punchdub” ad with “Two Weeks,” Grizzly Bear’s given a new song to the Washington State Lotto. The 60-second spot was directed by Patrick Daughters, the guy who did the original head-exploding “Two Weeks” video. It was choreographed by Michael Rooney, the guy who did the big dance sequence in (500) Days of Summer. This is not your grandmother’s Lottery ticket.

  1. I loooooove it

  2. fun. Now I just need to win

  3. This is the coolest music video i’ve seen in awhile, and its a commercial. I’m sure that says something about the state of society today, but i’m too lazy to think about it.

  4. Holy crap, I wonder what the budget was for that?

  5. Why do you suppose it was EW that got this? Anyway it’s a lot prettier than the weird cardboard cutout guy ads for our lottery.

  6. YAY WASHINGTON!

  7. Its kind of a sell out move for them, but it was cool enough for me not to care. haha. :D

  8. is this song on something or does the lottery own it?

  9. Based on their music, Grizzly Bear seems like a group of intelligent guys, so I’m curious why they decided to write music for a system that makes its money off the poor. I’m sure they have their reasons, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and just say that it is a nice song.
