There was a regrettable lack of constant, persistent hand-clapping in Sia’s “Clap Your Hands,” the second single from the Australian singer’s upcoming We Are Born. In his remix, Diplo focuses on hand-claps, and adds some “Pon De Floor“-esque pitch-shifting. It takes it in a seedy direction, especially compared to the fun-house-party feel of the original.
We Are Born is out 6/22 via Monkey Puzzle/Jive Records. She’s currently on tour in North America:

Not sure she’s big with the Stereogum demo, but no one slag her off too hard. My 8-yr-old loves Sia after she saw her do “The Girl You Lost to Cocaine” on Conan O’Brien (he used to have a show). Sia is a delightful little Oz nutball!
I interviewed her last year and she IS a total nutball. But a really sweet one. I had a lot of fun talking to her. Her music isn’t really what I like, but I forgive her. Because she was so nice.
