Last night at the Donaufestival in Lower Austria, Jamie Stewart collaborated with labelmates Deerhoof on a complete run-through of Joy Division’s 1979 debut Unknown Pleasures. Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier is sort of an honorary Xiu Xiu member, so things were likely pretty cozy. And now Stewart can now scratch covering a Joy Division record off his “Ian Curtis Wishlist,” ha ha. So far a bit of “She’s Lost Control” has surfaced.
