As promised, the Roots (aka Jimmy Fallon’s new Late Night house band maybe) hit up kids’ show Yo Gabba Gabba! recently to spread “Lovely, Love My Family.” The song’s an upbeat and sunny-day ska thing, and the pastels and dancing creatures make sure the kids at home are thinking about their moms and their pops and not the urban decay and injustices of the streets of Philly. Big smiles, everybody!

Previously on Gabba: The Shins, Cornelius, and Low. “Lovely”‘s on the Yo Gabba Gabba! album, available on iTunes.

I have to assume the chick dancing with DJ Lance Rock was his sister. I guess I’ll have to watch this episode to find out.

We LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
This show is fantastic. It teaches common sense concepts and is crazy enough to stay engaging.

My partner told me to express: the real big ups belong to ?uestlove and The Roots for this. I’m just a messenger, so respect is due to them.
