    Not for the reason you listed but I effing hate searching for “The Band.”
    Also, Sigur Ros, I don’t know how many different ways I’ve seen it spelled. Plus I don’t know how to make an accent mark on a PC without going “insert” on MS Word.

  28. I only hate The National because I’ve seen it tagged “The Nationals”. Same goes for other bands with that problem.

    Gerogerigegege is a frustrating one.

    If any of you happen to frequent the IGN Indie Rock Boards, there’s a running joke there after some guy asked about “The Pavement”.

    And while not the most misspelled band name, the most misunderstood band name is Final Fantasy. That shit is hard to get people to listen to.

    “You should check out Final Fantasy’s new album!”

    “You mean the Final Fantasy X soundtrack? Yeah, it’s tight!”

    “No, there’s a band called Final Fantasy and it plays kinda like orchestral music.”

    “…the Final Fantasy soundtrack has orchestral music on it.”

    just in general I find it annoying when people stick ‘The’ in front of bands like Pixies or Doves.

    Misspelling wise is it UNKLE? Unkle? U.N.K.L.E.? everytime I upload one of their discs or an “UNKLE Reconstruction” it’s different.

    I’ve seen “The Ranconteurs” in a handful of favorite music listings. Architecture in Helsinki can also be pretty tricky if you’re not thinking about it.
