Christina Aguilera’s forthcoming comeback album Bionic will feature some cred-boosting guests like M.I.A., Ladytron, Santigold and Le Tigre, who appear on “I Hate Boys.” This song is loads better than the first sample from Bionic, “Not Myself Tonight,” (the Lady Gaga-esque video didn’t help), it’s sort of strange to hear adult women singing “I hate boys/But boys love me/I think they suck/and my friends agree.” Le Tigre’s Johanna Fateman wrote about working with Aguilera on the Le Tigre website:
… While the giant sound of her stacked vocals and the pop sheen she lends to the tracks might seem at odds with Le Tigre’s aesthetic roots, it really works. The songs have a lot of elements we’re known for, like a garage guitar sound, schoolyard chants, new wave-y synths, electro beats, and somehow it all sounds crazily right with Christina’s unbelievable voice.
They nailed the schoolyard chants and huge vocals. Listen to a sample:

Bionic is out 6/4 via RCA.
Update: The leaked tracklist? Not correct. Here’s the real Le Tigre / Aguilera track, “My Girls”:
And here’s the M.I.A. co-penned (with several other writers) song, “Elastic Love”:
If that gets pulled, hit Hype Machine for the Aguil-aya track.

, there actually isn’t an entry for this song yet, but I saw Le Tigre on the early track listing for this song…will investigate further.
Christina Aguilera’s “I Hate Boys” was produced by Polow Da Don and Anomaly. Not LeTigre. I just thought you would want to know in order to maintain the integrity of your blog.
The Village Voice has already made a correction: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/archives/2010/05/correction_chri.php
The correct production credit can also be found on Christina’s website here : http://www.aguileraworld.com/2010/05/14/3629/
Why is it that Christina Aguilera decided to take twenty steps back in terms of the lyrical content of her music? You would think being married and having a kid would influence the direction her music would go. But is she really just … making music that she thinks will sell?
24Bit’s thing about K.Hanna’s “shouted bridge” at around 1:00 makes me confused–it really doesn’t sound like Kathleen and I’d venture to say that it actually sounds quite a bit more like Christina Aguilera. Also, I am not feeling any Le Tigre in the sample, generally speaking! I’m with Mario! It sounds like Katy Perry or something.
But doesn’t it sound like the “schoolyard chant” that Fateman was referring to? I hope it’s not this hard to figure out which track is the M.I.A.-penned one. Although, it’s getting harder to tell what’s hers with her own music…
Mario is completely correct on this one!!! I am extremely familiar with the track and it is 100% a Polow Da Don Co-Production but no with Le Tigre. Jessica@stereogum. Please contact me and I will give you all the contact info you need about Christina’s I Hate Boys
Yes this song has nothing to do with letigre, its a polow da don production, haha damn,

Enjoy!
and i am almost 100% positive that Ester Dean wrote the song.
This is awful. Why the hell did she name drop names of cool electro artists like Le Tigre, Goldfrapp, M.I.A., Santigold, Ladytron, why did she say ‘futurisctic’ and ‘electronic’ if it was just to make this very disposable and deja vu Pop/R&B. Yikes….
Listen to Janelle Monàe instead, this is really some good and futuristic rythm and blues.
The title track is pretty cool so I’m going to optimistically assume that that first single was just to satisfy the mainstreamers. And I’ll lob this boys hate me shite in there too.
I think Monday Morning sounds like the song you’re looking for. THe 30 second snippets leaked today.
this song has its thing
Yeah, this was pretty boring.
two of the most obnoxious acts in music, together at last!
yawn. christina being a try-too-hard, as usual.
loves it. http://www.soundcloud.com/krunkboys
Really, “My Girls”? Christina is really jumping on this indie train.
The tune may be catchy but the words are pure hate. I am glad she just came out and said it rather than be passive-aggressive (cowardly and dishonorable). Take a minute and consider something. She says that she doesn’t like boys, that is good that she is no http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Kay_Letourneau.
But she says that men are no good either even if they are men they are still dogs. 90% of a “boys” life is spent with his mother and his teachers, mostly women. Ask them. It all comes back around to you. Dogs are cool.
