Here are some phenom tracks from a project that’s getting solid spins around Stereogum HQ and is sure to be of interest to any indie-Canada completists. Johnny And The Moon is the long-belabored love child of Dante DeCaro (of Hot Hot Heat and Wolf Parade fame), featuring tunes conceived after leaving Heat and occasionally reared during stints opening for Parade. Think of it as WP’s pastoral younger brother, a mildly surreal folkie with less by way of experimental quirk but just as much in his arrangement and melody.

The self-titled album was released yesterday in Canada and will see a US release in late January ’07. But you can buy it now at Kill Devil Hill Records, wherever you are. And as always, there’s more to listen at MySpace.
