Trent Reznor is a man of his word: A year after promising the filmmakers behind Tetsuo: The Bullet Man an original song for their film, he sent them this ambient track in February. It’s perfect exit music that goes from harsh to beautiful to grand and climactic over its five minutes. The Bullet Man is the third in director Shinya Tsukamoto’s cult cyberpunk series. And, as we’ve seen, Reznor is generous when it comes to projects he likes personally. Have a listen to the track at Some Kind Of Awesome.

HELLZ YES!!!!
TR has always had $$$$ to throw at people, now he’s got Q as well. Maybe he’ll pimp her out just like all the other big name producers in LA would. His behavior has been so consistent with L.A. douchebag, why change now?
So I just read that they’re releasing the 6 track album on the 6th day of the 6th month. Is Trent a fucking adolescent goth kid trapped in a 45-year-old’s body?!? (I know, that was a dumb question.) Man, it just cracks me up. If you’re agnostic, why believe in stuff that originates from the Bible? Guess what, the Devil, Hell, and The Beast are all Christian constructs. But maybe I’m making too many assumptions here. Maybe the number 666 has some other association for them. Coincidentally, Ronald Wilson Reagan has 6 letters in his first, middle, and last name. Wow, Trent, that is so clever! Who ever knew you were such a fan of our 40th president, you’d dedicate HTDA’s first EP to his legacy.
OK Stereogum readers, get ready for some crazy comments here. Let me explain how this works.
There’s a group of truly obsessed and crazy NIN fans who all follow Google alerts looking for the mention of Trent’s name. When they see an article like this and can post anonymously (or close), all 3 of them start posting like crazy making it look like everyone shares their opinion. You’re seeing one already – the one from “kf” right above this. You will see more.
How do I know this? I used to be one myself. I would spend hours a day obsessing over Reznor and when he finally got married it pushed me over the edge along with my other online friends. I never went out much and didn’t have any friends in the real world and really lost touch with reality. I’m not a kid – I’m a mother and somehow in the rush I got from posting as someone else I forgot that.
Anyway, I eventually realized how foolish I had been acting and put an end to that nonsense. I apologize for my former comrades who will flood these comments with their insanity. Please forgive them for they know no better.
Blessed be,
Renee B.
As a male NIN fan, I don’t get you girls and the constant dissing of this guy’s a wife — who you’ve never met. I mean did you like his music or just want his cock?
That’s really interesting and not at all crazy, really, but what did you think of the song?
Personally I enjoyed it. Do love me some Nine Inch Nails when I can get it.
