You know you’re out there. Last night’s cliffhanging episode kicked off with a flashback of Monica (aka Kate) in a hotel room listening to the sweet coo of Ann-Margret’s “Slowly,” which in the LOST universe means … we can blog about it! Ann-Margret’s not exactly burning up the elbo.ws charts, so tracking down an MP3 has proven difficult, but if you want to reminisce about the Kate-heavy ep for the next few months, buy “Slowly” here (iTunes).
So, we know that every week there’s a vocal band of viewers that say “no more!” and jump ship, frustrated by the endless riddles, the incessant flashbacks, the occasional additions of until-now-invisible-yet-entirely-hot Oceanic passengers. But they’ve still got us hooked!

What balls on Jack! Who saw that snip of the kidney coming? Rather awesome. And Kate + Sawyer = awesome footage of hot and horny Kate. So Dr. Jack bought Kate an hour headstart to run, but if they’re on a different island, she’s screwed! Or ARE they on a different island? Oh, those devious Others and their shenanigans.
What’s gonna come of Locke’s gleaning onto the “Lift up your eyes and look to the north” inscription on Mr. Eko’s stick? It’s from the book of John, by the way, so you know Eko meant it for him. Either way, Locke’s got his destiny-fueled swerve back. Are we ever gonna find out what the deal is with the rock chopping and lugging? And umm … how the fuck are we supposed to wait ’til February? Feel free to shed light on any count.

The whole does (Kate/Jack/Sawyer) love (Sawyer/Jack/Kate) enough to (kill/suicide/fuck in public) thing was cool stretched over two seasons, but compressed into the last couple episodes?
LOST has never worked well at warp speed (see also: half of last season) and if the writers would just treat their audience as the obviously patient people they are, we wouldn’t be stuck with this shitty hangover. I mean cliffhanger.
But, yeah – Jack’s got BALLZ.

Huge move on Jack’s part, but definitely the right one. Clearly he doesn’t trust Ben or Julie and her request for an alliance. How can he? What if that “change” she says some of the Others want is a change for the evil?

yeah, no fucking around with Jack, capitan. i haven’t been feeling his character lately, but now he’s my #1 fave again. i have no idea what i’m going to do till february now. get a life, i guess.

jack should have used that gun he jacked to blast some serious others. why not, besides ben and julie the other others are useless to him getting home.

Totally let down by last night’s episode. I wanted more resolution to their captivity before introducing a new a cliff hanger. The six episode arc was weak. LOST works *best* at warp speed (see also: half of last season).
My friends & I cheered when Jack started barking orders. I guess all that time stewing in his cell allowed him to cook up his strategy to sucker both sides. Juliet (if her video has on the level) can’t just suggest letting him die in front of everyone, cuz from the look on Tom/Zeke’s face, he’s not in on it. And I think the worksite is a landing strip too.

Oh, and they’re on the second island: after Sun shot Colleen, Ben said “the sub is back”. The Others have a submarine. How else did they get on the sailboat, not using the dock, and not get wet?
Fucking lost is fucking pissing me the fuck off. Sooo many episodes where nothing happens and they are basically back where they were at the start of the episode. The writers are just trying to delay revealing anything so that they can have more seasons and make more money. ex. Why the fuck wont the others answer any questions why they are on the island. Theres no reason!!!1

I like that the show doesn’t answer everything immediately, and I like that things that get mentioned in passing come back in later episodes. And even though waiting until February is going to be tough getting the final 13-14 episodes with no interruptions is awesome.
Anybody other than me think Kate chose Sawyer, but that she really loves Jack? I thought her flashback was alluding to that…

well, my guess is that danielle is ben and juliet’s adopted child. otherwise, why wouldn’t she have shared her boyfriend’s fate for insubordination? she has some sort of protected status. also, ben asked about her before the surgery, an interesting detail. personally, I would like to know why a group of people with their own fertility doctor have such an avid interest in the other people’s babies?

I think that Kate really loves Jack. Think about it. What if Ben told Kate during their lovely breakfast on the beach in Ep. 1 to con Sawyer or they’d kill Jack? That’s why he said the next couple of weeks would be really rough for her.
She never did repeat the ‘I Love You’ to Sawyer. Also, that’s why she won’t leave without Jack.
Yes, I know that Kate and Sawyer had stemay cage-sex but still… don’t you think it was coincidental that it happened after she was brought back from talking to Jack – and that a mysterious voice let Jack know he could get out only to see the video of Kate and Sawyer?

Let’s not forget that Jack DOES NOT know that they’re ona separate island. Am I correct? I thought Ben only told Sawyer.
The biggest things from last night is that Jack also doesn’t know that Sawyer was going to be shot when he walkie-talkied them, though Kate did tell him that they were going to kill Sawyer. Hopefully Jack hasn’t fucked them by giving them an hour to run around the island before they just get caught again.
Also, Alex asked about Ben (in a very panicked way, sligshot at the ready) YET Juliet told Ben that Alex did no such thing. WTF up with that???
It was the whole “kate’s husband” thing that had me confused. He was from a flashback waaaayy back in the first or second season, we had thought that he was just a childhood friend, they dug up a time capsule with a cassette tape with them as kids talking about how they’d get married. Then they made out, and then she got him into a car crash and he died. He was married and had kids.
Well, now, apparently from last night’s flashback, he was also her previous husband. I guess Kate ran off, then he got remarried and had kids. BUT WHAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND is that he thought Kate’s name was Becky. But if it wasn’t until Kate was an adult that she blew up her dad and was on the lam, HOW does her childhood-friend turned husband not even know that her name is Kate? Is that even possible?

the guy from the last flashback who was married to “Monica” is a different guy than the one who she made the time capsule with. The actor from the most recent episode is from Firefly and Serenity.

as for malcolm aka mr. firefly/serenity, i hope they show more flashbacks of him. i miss firefly.
this season is pissing me off already and february better come quick. i want answers and i want them now!! the lapses in winter are really frustrating.
