Earlier this year Adidas launched a series of Star Wars-branded shoes and clothing, so they turned to Lucasfilm again for this new commercial in their 2010 Originals series. This commercial combines more than just Stars Wars and Adidas — it re-imagines the famous Mos Eisley Cantina scene from Star Wars Episode IV with a new cast, including Daft Punk (they won’t serve droids, but robots are fine), Snoop Dogg, Stone Roses’s Ian Brown, Ciara, Noel Gallagher, and David Beckham. The cast gathers in the Cantina (alongside original players Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3P0, and Obi-Wan Kenobi) to watch the 2010 World Cup.

None of that made sense.
Cool idea, but could have been so much better. The editing is sort of awkward and what a random collection of celebs. Did they just pull together whoever happened to be at a sound stage that day? Does Daft Punk have an endorsement deal with Adidas? Does Noel Gallagher? Does Chewbacca?
Yeah, it sounds like a pretty cool idea, but it ends being just sorta weird.
