Thanks Whitney for turning our attention to SingShot, an “on-line singing community which provides access to thousands of songs and allows you to record your own version of songs.”

Of the thousands of tunes, it appears at least 50% are country, and 25% hair metal, but the project is mildly amusing. Especially this dude’s “Beat It.”

The site would be, oh, 1000% better if it were video and not audio (c’mon people, web 2.0!) but we guess there’s always YouTube for that. Hey, what happened to Ernie Rogers “YOU TUBE ROCKSTAR !!!”? Suspended again? We’re gonna miss those shitty Nirvana covers.
