The Ruby Suns’s video for “Cinco” is a beautifully shot basketball game between two teams of senior players. It’s simple but effective, with lots of slow motion play and white basketballs flying against the black sky. Each player has a glowing jewel (ruby?) on their chest, sort of like the Life Clock jewels in Logan’s Run. I don’t know if the video has much to do with “Cinco,” but it’s fun to watch over the songs shimmering tropical groove.
Fight Softly is out now via Sub Pop.
