For the third year in a row, we’ve turned to master bootlegger team9 to take some of our favorite songs of the year and mash them together. On Stereogum & team9 Present… MySplice III you’ll hear familiar blog hits from artists like Lykke Li, of Montreal, the Breeders, Bloc Party, Crystal Castles, and Beck remixed with beats and vocals borrowed from some of the year’s most inescapable pop hits. (There are some oldies thrown in, too.)
As always with our original compilations, you may download all the tracks for free, as individual MP3s, ZIP or torrent. There is no better way to celebrate 2008 for no money.
One hitch: we need an album cover! You’re creative, will you make one for us?
All covers must be sized 500×500 pixels and display this title:

this fucking sucks.
these are all pretty decent but feels a little a little less inspired than last years mash up… or at least none of the tracks blew me away like rocKnife did.
I’m in total agreement with you there. Roc Knife was my favourite track off of last year’s Mysplice. I was a little bit disappointed. I think my favourite off this year’s is Good After Time.
As expected, great stuff from Team9, but I don’t hear an insta-classic like 2006′s “Cold War Fiasco” in there.
But hey, I’m not complaining! I’m just reminding myself how nukular Cold War Fiasco was! A few of these mashes will no doubt be in my constant rotation. Cheers, T9!

I’ve always wondered how these guys get the isolated instrument/vocal tracks though, otherwise I’d have a go myself.
