In the latest installment of “How Many Ways Can We Repurpose Santogold,” Academy Award winning hip hop outfit Three 6 Mafia and Project Pat put a melodramatic sheen on Santi’s ode to music industry rejection. This Mad Decent take features a verse picking up on the hopelessness in Santi’s hook (“We think you’re a joke, shove your hope where it don’t shine”), talking about bodies in the streets and cetera, which definitely wasn’t White’s intent but all is fair in love and remix. (See also: Jay-Z snatching the opening “Brooklyn, we go hard,” for his Brooklyn fight song “Brooklyn [We Go Hard].”) Fun game. Next up someone should do a version just about the joys of shoving things where it don’t shine. And by someone I mean Bangers & Cash.

That comes via Mad Decent.
