Whatcha doin’ Memorial Day Weekend? How about a trip to the Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington for 50 artists on 3 stages over two days? Each year we freak out about Bonnaroo, SXSW, and Coachella (maybe even a little Lolla, ACL, Intonation, and P4K), but our friends that have been say Sasquatch! is the gem. We haven’t been yet, but the fest may be worth the trip for Björk and Arcade Fire alone. Check the lineup:

Whatever, I still need Coachella tickets: 2 for Saturday and perhaps 2 for Friday. If you are willing to part with yours, leave a message and I’ll get in touch with you. Thanks!
hot damn! thanks for the lineup info
A much better line-up than last year. I may just drag myself out to the Gorge.
Well, i dunno
That second day just doesn’t seem to have enough potatoes to go with its beastie boys steak.
Unless more bands are added, and they will I think, it looks like its a one day weekend for me.
Silversun Pickups say they are playing it on their official site but failed to make the lineup.
I was really hoping Mew would be there too… and yeah, some more big names. How did the Dandy Warhols get so low… oh yeah… that Odditoreum thing.
Bad Brains are all potatoes needed to cover the beastie boys steak. HR may be getting on in age, but he can still wail.
Well, looks like there’s gonna be a lot of thirty-somethings at this year’s show then… surprised the Silver Jews couldn’t make it for them.
Sickest fest lineup yet, IMO.
But I’m still going to BONNAROO!
how on earth can it calll itself a greeen event when you have to drive like 6 hours from any major city to get to it?
Why do you have to log in to go to the Sasquatch Festival site linked above?
Since it’s the only festival besides Bumbershoot to hit anywhere in the northwest, it’s a lot more appealing to me, personally. Line-up looks good, and although Sunday looks a little weaker, The Dandys and The Beastie Boys both put on fantastic shows. I saw Helio Sequence open for The Pixies, they were pretty damn good.
I hope Money Mark plays with the B Boys, though, that would be sweet.
arcade fire and manu chao! if beirut plays, my life will be complete … ok, not really, but it just made my day
The real reason I wanted to go to Coachella was Bjork. I don’t really dig the Chili Peppers, and I saw Rage my freshman year of high school. I live in Oregon. Now I can spend half of the money and drive half of the way, and the crowd will be significantly smaller. Thanks Sasquatch.
Amazing….thanks Scott for the scoop.
Don’t think Saturday lineup will be beat this summer. See y’all there

Interpol seems to be playing some festivals this year, do they have a new album that I’m unaware of?
Watching The Flaming Lips sing “you realize the sun don’t go down/it’s just an illusion caused by the world spinning round” while the sky lit up at sunset over the Gorge was a highlight of my life.
It’s a beautiful place to see a shoe. What made it even more beautiful was beating the traffic out of the parking lot while Coldplay spent 45 minutes getting their lighting right.
Interpol’s new album will be finished next month with an expected release date in June.
Or a show. Seeing a shoe at the Gorge is probably cool if you’re tripping, but I recommend seeing a show there.
Fuck, how did I not catch that one? I need to read more.
i am considering a major trip from cali to this one, since coachella looks like a clusterfuck. does anyone know how many tickets get sold to sasquatch? any experiences from those who have been?
Oh man, I need to get to Sasquatch this year.
I can never find anyone to go with me, but this year may be a little different. (potential indie gf)
Spoon live sounds good, sooo good.
And more Artists TBA, i wonder who?
Good line-up for the price, 110ish for both days. Too bad I graduate from college that Saturday, not a Friday, it would make for a good capstone. Oh well, I will just be happy to be out of college, just have to find a job…
Coachella pwns this year and i have the THREE DAY PASS! I’d like to see Spoon and MIA though… oh well, its only a month after coachella… would it be decadent to go to both?
…Coachella part II.
I still wanna go.
its not 6 hours from a major city. last year it took only an hour to drive from seattle.
I went to both Coachella and Sasquatch one year. Coachella was pretty nice (skipped Radiohead and The Cure, ha) but Sasquatch is where it’s at. GREAT music, GREAT atmosphere. GREAT festival.

Skipped Radiohead and the Cure? *head explodes*
working on getting a group out for this one. its a sweet lineup and great start to summer…
also, interpol in their dark suits in the wilderness? i wanna see this.
Let’s not forget that The Beastie Boys have a history with Sasquatch:

The Gorge is like 1 1/2 hrs from seattle, 2 1/2 from spokane and 3-4 hrs from Portland. Not sure what youre talking about.
mmm went to sasquatch last year
giant hail storm and all was one of the greatest things ive ever seen
lineup this year isnt exactly as great as last year but the atmosphere at the gorge cant be beat
bring lots of changes of clothes for the crazy weather, it went from giant hail and lightning to 70 degrees and sunny to rainbows to heavy winds.
and prepare to be woken at early hours of the morning by chanting oiler fans
Whoever said the Gorge was six hours away from any major city … check again! It’s barely 2 hours from Seattle. I think the lineup is way weaker than last years. But I’m afraid to go back because of that nasty hail storm … Also confirmed at The Saturday Knights (seattle locals)
P.S.: I’ve also been to Coachella, which is basically a big clusterfuck of people passing out from de-hydration and heat stroke.
Not as fun. But better bands.
‘squatch 2006 was a festival to remember. The Gorge is easily the best outdoor venue for a festival. Chill vibes, wacky weather and a good long, healthy hike from campground to stage. Bring beer.
hey, I have two friday tickets for Coachella! face value plus the service fee, let me know if you want them!
Uhhh…to whomever said they saw Flaming Lips sing “Do You Realize” at sunset must’ve been on some really good drugs (or not there) because they went on at uh…like…AFTER MIDNIGHT after Ben Harper hogged the stage for 2.5 hours!
This years line-up is okay at best but nowhere near as strong as in recent years.
WTF? It’s 2008- This is about last years show!
Why is this still up?
