Win Butler & Jon Stewart, Arcade Fire On The Daily Show

So we live in a country where, for a week anyway, a proper indie band is #1 with an unqualifiedly impressive sales week (the vinyl alone would be #67) , and its indie label owner is indifferent to the accomplishment (“the whole chart thing is kind of like sports“), and the knowledge that the next Dr. Luke pop tart’s sales ascension is right around the corner. But no matter how many terrible artists top the charts the rest of the year, they can’t take that image above away from us. Win’s tall, Jon’s not, they have a cute back-and-forth, and Arcade Fire sounded fantastic on The Daily Show last night. “Ready To Start” and the web-exclusive of “Month Of May” here for you:

  1. wow, what a stupid and awkward question john asked in the beginning.

  2. Live or Memorex?

  3. Man they sound good! It really has been a good two weeks for them!

  4. Month of May was not one of my favorites on the album, but I liked it live here.

  5. We…really…try..to be…nice….

  6. So wait, is Win Butler really tall? Is Jon Stewart really short? Both?

  7. What is that on Win Butler’s head? Is that a haircut?

  8. Nice to see they still share the title of ‘one of the weirdest looking bands in rock’ :) Sound great though. But boy Win’s chick still kinda creeps me out, that blue dress n now playing drums… she’s so odd. (i swear she would make a great Chucky-like evil-doll-come-to-life in a horror movie though). (n boy Win’s shirt is…something). And am i the only one who didn’t hear any of their TWO fiddlers on Month of May? You don’t think they coulda been… air-fiddling? Faux fiddling!? Let’s pray not. That would be quite the controversy, specially with their fellow fiddlers. (DMB’s fiddler would be rolling over in his grave).

  9. two drummers is nice, but what’s the point if they play the same beat.

  10. homeboy on the keys might be epileptic?
