I saw Tortoise in providence senior year in college.one of the best live shows i have ever been to. oval opened up for them and it was really funny to stand around and watch a guy stare at his computer with one hand in his pocket.

“Robo-rock jerk off”? C’mon, you’ve got to be kidding….there’s some really fantastic stuff on the new one. Not a huge departure for them, basically building on the Pro Tools stuff from Standards but there’s a real arc to the album as a whole. And how about that last track? (Yes, the artwork is fantastic. About time they did something interesting with the cover.)
I agree I was harsh. I like *a few* of the songs. Overall, however, it’s a disappointment.
